The basics
What is Pawsome Booking?
Pawsome Booking is booking software for UK dog groomers that remembers every dog: one-minute online booking with deposits, a grooming record and photo history for each dog, and automatic invitations to book the next groom. It costs £9.99 a month with no commission.
Who is Pawsome Booking for?
UK dog groomers: salon, mobile and home-based, from groomers just starting out to small teams sharing one diary. It isn't designed for dog walkers, pet sitters or daycare yet, as they need features like group walks and multi-day stays.
Is Pawsome Booking a UK company?
Yes. Pawsome Booking is run by SCH Ventures Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17020630). Prices are in pounds and customer data is stored in the UK.
Do I need a website?
Not for bookings. Pawsome Booking gives you your own booking page with your services, prices and free times, so you don't need a full website to take bookings online. Share the link on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, your Google Business Profile or on a card in your salon or van.
Grooming records and rebooking
Can I keep grooming records for each dog?
Yes. After each appointment, record what was done, blades and clip lengths, products, coat and skin condition, behaviour, and before and after photos. It builds a history for each dog, and the last record is shown at their next appointment.
Can I send owners a photo of their dog after the groom?
Yes. Save the grooming record and send a groom report: the owner gets the after photo, what was done, your message and a link to book the next groom. Your private notes are never included.
Does Pawsome Booking remind customers to rebook?
Yes. Set how often each service should be repeated, for example every 6 weeks. When a dog is nearly due and has nothing booked, the owner is emailed a link to book with their details already filled in. Owners can stop these emails at any time.
How fast is it for a returning customer to book?
From a rebooking link, they pick a time and confirm: their name, contact details and dog are already known, so it takes well under a minute.
For mobile groomers
Does it work for mobile groomers?
Yes. Set your base postcode and how far you travel. Customers enter their postcode first and can only book if you cover them, at times that allow for the drive between your appointments, with any travel charge shown before they book. Each appointment has a Directions button, and Today's route shows the day's stops in order with drive times.
Can I charge more for customers further away?
Yes. Add up to three travel charges by distance, for example £5 over 5 miles and £10 over 10 miles. The charge is added to the price and shown to the customer before they book.
Will customers book times I can't get to?
No. Once a customer enters their postcode, they're only offered times that leave enough time to drive from your previous appointment that day and on to your next one, using the longer of your usual gap and the estimated drive.
Can it plan my day's route?
Yes. Today's route lists your appointments in order with the estimated miles and drive time between each, warns you when two are too close together to drive between, and opens the whole day in Google Maps with one tap. Drive times are estimates, not live traffic.
What happens if someone outside my area tries to book?
They're told you don't cover their postcode and shown your phone number or email, so they can still ask you. You can always add them yourself.
Do bookings I add myself appear on the route?
Yes. When you add a booking, the postcode in the customer's address puts it on your route. Travel charges are only added to online bookings, so for phone bookings you charge what you agree.
Price
How much does Pawsome Booking cost?
Pawsome Booking costs £9.99 a month, with no commission on bookings and no setup fee. Setting up is free, and you get 3 months free when you publish your booking page.
Does Pawsome Booking take a commission?
No. You pay a flat £9.99 a month however many bookings you take. Deposits go straight to your own Stripe account; Stripe's standard card fee (UK cards from 1.5% + 20p) is the only deduction.
How does the free trial work?
Setting up is free with no card. When you publish your booking page, your 3-month free trial starts: you add a card but are charged £0, you're emailed before the first payment, and you can cancel any time in two clicks.
Are there extra charges for reminders or more customers?
No. Email confirmations and reminders, unlimited bookings, customers and pets are all included in £9.99 a month.
Can I get a free month?
Yes. Refer another business with your referral link and when they make their first payment, you both get a month free (up to 12 free months a year).
Deposits and payments
How do I take deposits for dog grooming bookings?
Connect a free Stripe account, then set a deposit on each service: a fixed amount, a percentage or full payment. Customers pay when they book, and the booking is only confirmed once they've paid.
Where does the deposit money go?
Straight to your own Stripe account, then to your bank on Stripe's usual payout schedule. Pawsome Booking never holds your money.
Can I refund a deposit?
Yes. Open the booking and refund it in a couple of taps. If a customer's payment arrives after their slot has gone to someone else, it's refunded automatically.
Do customers have to pay online?
Only if you want them to. You can take deposits on some services and none on others, and customers can pay the rest however you like on the day.
Bookings and your diary
Do my customers need to create an account?
No. Customers pick a service and a time, tell you about their pet, and pay a deposit if you ask for one. There's no account or app to download.
How do I add breaks and holidays?
Add a regular break, like lunch, to your weekly hours, and use Block time for one-off breaks, appointments or holidays. Customers are only ever offered times you're free.
Can I leave time between appointments?
Yes. Each service has a gap after it for cleaning up or, if you're mobile, driving to the next customer. The next slot isn't offered until the gap is over.
Can I add bookings that come in by phone or message?
Yes. Add them to the same diary in seconds. The customer's details and pet notes are saved for next time.
Can customers cancel their own booking?
Yes. Their confirmation email has a link to view or cancel, up to the notice period you choose.
Does it send reminders?
Yes. Customers get an email confirmation when they book and a reminder the day before. Text message reminders aren't available yet.
Can I see bookings in my phone's calendar?
Yes. Add your private calendar link to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook and new bookings appear automatically.
Switching and your data
Can I switch from Tuft, Savvy Pet or another booking system?
Yes. Ask your current system for an export of your clients and pets (usually a CSV or Excel file) and import it in a couple of minutes, or send it to us and we'll import it for you, free. Owners with several dogs are matched up, and nothing is duplicated if you import twice.
Can I import my existing customers?
Yes. Export your clients from your current system or spreadsheet as a CSV file and import them. Owners with several pets are matched up, and re-importing the same file won't create duplicates.
Is my customers' data safe and GDPR compliant?
Customer data is stored in the UK, sent over encrypted connections, and each business's data is kept separate. A UK GDPR data processing agreement is included in the terms, and you can erase a customer's details at any time.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. There's no contract. Cancel from your subscription settings and your plan runs to the end of the month you've paid for.
What doesn't Pawsome Booking do yet?
Text message reminders, group bookings with several dogs in one slot, and separate diaries for multiple staff aren't available yet.
