Your rules

Booking, cancellation and no-show policy

Booking

To secure your appointment, we take a £10 deposit when you book. It comes off the price of your groom on the day.

Changing or cancelling

Please give us at least 2 days' notice if you need to change or cancel. With that notice, your deposit can be moved to a new appointment or refunded. With less notice, your deposit is kept, as we're unlikely to fill the slot at short notice.

Arriving late

Please arrive on time so every dog gets the time they need. If you're more than 15 minutes late, we may need to shorten the groom or rebook you, and the full price may still apply.

No-shows

If you miss your appointment without telling us, we'll charge your deposit, which is non-refundable. After two missed appointments, we may ask for full payment upfront for future bookings.

Illness and emergencies

Life happens. If your dog is unwell or there's a genuine emergency, let us know as soon as you can and we'll always try to be fair.

If we need to cancel

If we have to cancel, you'll get a full refund of anything you've paid, or we'll move your appointment to a time that suits you.

Your dog's welfare

We may pause or stop a groom if your dog becomes very distressed, or for their safety. You'll only pay for the work completed.

We'll send what you asked for once. See our privacy notice.

Good to know

Can I keep a deposit if a customer doesn't turn up?

Yes, as long as your policy says so clearly before they book and the amount is a fair reflection of what you lose. A deposit kept for a no-show or very late cancellation is widely used by UK groomers.

How much notice should I ask for?

Most groomers ask for 24 or 48 hours. Long enough that you have a chance to fill the slot, short enough that customers don't feel trapped.

Where should I put my policy?

On your booking page, in your confirmation messages, and on your website or Facebook page. Customers should see it before they pay.

This template is a starting point, not legal advice. Keep your terms fair and clear, in line with UK consumer law.

A policy works best when it's enforced automatically. Pawsome Booking takes a deposit when customers book, for £9.99 a month with no commission. Or see how much no-shows cost you.
